DNC Turns Down RC Cardinal Request to Pray at Convention but Yes to 2 hour Islamic Jumah Prayers
Update: Cardinal Dolan will give the closing prayer at both conventions.
The DNC recently turned down a Roman Catholic Cardinal’s request to say a prayer at the Democratic National Convention. Think it’s because they already cast their oar in a different water?
The Blaze has an interesting article that is a must read.

I checked the Democratic Ntl Conv page and it says convention’s not till Spt 3-6. This Islamic thing - yes, it’s nasty as all get out - says it’s Aug 31-Spt 1.
So what’s really going on?

Someone sent me an email yesterday regarding this. I wrote back explaining that while there will be a Muslim prayer event in Charlotte, it will NOT occur during the “official” convention which starts September 3. The Muslim event will take place August 31 - Sept. 1.
However, the only references to this I could find on the ‘net were from conservative sites - you’d think the MSM would be at great pains to point out that this isn’t an official event of the DNC.
(Sound of crickets chirping….)
That’s not to say that a lot of delegates won’t already be in Charlotte, as
I’m sure the DNC plans a whole weekend of events for them. Many of them may
actually participate in this event (nodding their heads wisely at how
“diverse, inclusive and tolerant” they are.)

Update: The DNC has agreed that Cardinal Dolan will give the closing benediction at the convention.
Well, bless their little hearts.

The Dems are getting cocky - showing their true colors. And I believe this election will TURN OFF MORE PEOPLE than ever before.
In the past Dems pretended to be conservatives…and is some cases they still do. However, adding homosexual marriage (abortion rights already existed) to their platform I think is causing some to “pause”.
The wheat is being separated from the chaff - much harder to be “in the middle”.

For some strange reason, whenever I hear about the DNC, the bar scene from Star Wars always comes to mind. I just can’t break the association no matter how hard I try [wink, nod].

Snopes says that this report is wrong. The Muslim prayer is entirely separate. Quite a few Christian organizations are holding events during the conventions and YWAM had a team at the RNC in Tampa and the same team is going to Charlotte to witness (I know the wife of one of the team members). The Muslims have the same right of assembly as the Christian groups do. The Cardinal, having been invited by the RNC, offered to pray for the Dems as well; he does not want to be seen as partisan.
