What A Total Surprise: “Racial Prejudice Has Increased Slightly Since 2008”
One of the sad consequences of having as “the first” black President a man as incompetent and Marxist as President Obama is simply that he would represent a very bad beginning.
But people who greeted his election with nervousness due to his skin color [rather than his unConstitutional and immoral ideology] have, regrettably, had their racist beliefs confirmed in spades. This makes Christian outreach to those afflicted with the wicked sin of racism far more challenging. When I speak with people who hold contempt for black people in general because of their skin color, the actions and outcomes of President Obama’s disastrous presidency now can get thrown into my face as “evidence” of the truth of their beliefs.
At the time of his election I realized how much we needed “the first” to be a man who was competent, who loved and respected America and its heritage, and who was also a Constitutional conservative. But it wasn’t to be.
From the AP, where there is more:
Racial prejudice has increased slightly since 2008 whether those feelings were measured using questions that explicitly asked respondents about racist attitudes, or through an experimental test that measured implicit views toward race without asking questions about that topic directly.
In all, 51 percent of Americans now express explicit anti-black attitudes, compared with 48 percent in a similar 2008 survey. When measured by an implicit racial attitudes test, the number of Americans with anti-black sentiments jumped to 56 percent, up from 49 percent during the last presidential election. In both tests, the share of Americans expressing pro-black attitudes fell.
