Ed Bacon is Relevant

How do I know?

Because he and a bunch of other septuagenarian honkies are dancing, in that special way only septuagenarian honkies can:

And who are these people who are “rising”? Zombie attended one of their rallies so you wouldn’t have to. Have a look.

I hate it when white people get funky.  shock

Seriously?

One thing is for sure - Ed Bacon may have just disproved the six degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon theory based solely on Ed’s dancing ability or lack thereof.

And come on - Rising as a descriptive?  Really???

Are these people actually sentient?

This is where a trip down the liturgical dance path wil ultimately end.

Demeaning and embarrassing.  I hate to see grown people making a spectacle of themselves thinking they’re being cool.  Actually, they are just making themselves a laughing stock.

And such a beautiful church.  What a crying shame.  And what a shameless exhibitionist they have for a rector.  Good grief.

Good Lord, Double G, put up an ipecac warning next time. grin

Oh my.

Oh my oh my oh my oh my.

. . . All this demonstrates—yet again—is how completely un-self-aware TEC revisionists are.

#5’s comment (“such a beautiful church”) reminds me of:

Matthew 23:27. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness.

I cannot think of any way that this building could be more defiled.

At least the Muslims seem to like Ed, and the ACLU, and the NAACP. And he is a Georgia boy.

Hey, I be down with that shizzle in the fizzle, Ol Man Ed.

Just be sure not to say anything about FGC or Honor Killings - because it’s like totally racist and bigoted against Muslims.

Creepy video.

And I see the Giant Puppets of Doom showed up in San Francisco.

No, Ralph, but you can be sure that the folks at All Saints, Pasadena, are busy thinking of new ways.

Okay…who is Ed Bacon and why does he think we care a wit about him?

To be fair, most of them dance better than I do. Sadly, they’re dancing for liberal politics.
One Billion Rising, created by V-Day, created by Eve Ensler, author of the veejayjay monologues.

Good criticism about the group on wikipedia

V-Day has attracted considerable criticism for hijacking the occasion of Valentine’s Day. Critics argue that feminists should not be admonishing people to consider rape, incest and violence on an occasion designed to celebrate love and romance.[6] Feminist Wendy McElroy stated that “V-Day embodies the same double standard and dishonesty that has characterized most feminist pronouncements for decades” and urged people to “take back Valentines Day”.[7] Glenn Sacks criticised V-Day for being misandrist and for causing division between the genders, stating “Valentine’s Day, which in the past symbolized the romantic bonds between men and women, has been turned into a day which further separates them.”[8]

In other words, standard Episcopal efforts to undermine the family in American society.
Can you believe how that guy is crowing about fabulous author and genital fetishist EVE ENSLER! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Yes, EVE ENSLER ! ! ! ! !  ! ! ! Bring your vaginas on Feb 14.

Confession:  I used to go there.  I was married there.  Ed was my rector.

And I am so glad I left.  This church educated me about liberal sanctimony—there’s no becoming modesty, no sense that we approach God with fear and trembling—only that one can’t believe in a God that makes you uncomfortable, or one that passes judgements, or one who doesn’t approve of whatever perversity turns you on.  The only sin is voting Republican.  “God is just like me!  He likes what I like!”

Where do I go to burn that image out of my brain?

I think StandFirm should add a category like the program Web Soup’s “Things You Can’t Unsee” for TEC videos like this.  Tragic Christian, even Web Soup follows “Things You Can’t Unsee” with their Palate Cleanser that usually involves cute puppies or other similar things.  For now, I suggest you Google “puppy bowl” to see if there are any videos out there for this Animal Planet alternative to the Super Bowl grin

It used to be a nice middle of the road Episcopal parish…
but then IT happened: George Regas and all that followed….
I remembered when they gutted the parish library of all the real Anglican books.
I got some of them at their yard sale.

what saints do all their ‘saints’ invoke? Sad, eh?
