“solipsistic and self centered habits” there’s an apt phrase. A bit like narcissism.
SO now the question is who’s listening to this and what can we do with it? KSH+ is Canon Theologian in a diiocese that has bucked the trend in the national church…barely. Most of us are a fading minority, a remnant in exile, in an organization that is withering. So while we try to continue to walk forward we are constrained by ecclesial cobwebs.

Stefano, I understand. Those who embrace the faith are indeed a minority. However, remnants can still do mighty things. God still loves his faithful remnant so don’t give up. The day may come when the remnant is still around and TEC is just a vague memory.
I love Kendall’s iceberg analogy as it does describe the *hidden* nature of so much that false gospel which needs to be changed. Alas, I have seen this happen in TEC over the past couple of decades. There were signs back then of what was happening. I remember my mom and dad considered leaving the Episcopal Church way back in 1977. There were no options then. So they started a home church with a retired priest. Just a few years earlier there was discussion as whether I should be confirmed or not as they did not like our diocesan bishop. I was.
Comments like yours make me want to write- come on down to Diocese of South Carolina where the faith is preached. I wish we could somehow absorb all the faithful laity left in TEC in a manner similar to how clergy are canonically resident here even though they don’t live here.

Greg, thanks for posting this. Where and when did Canon Harmon give this talk and would it be possible to post all the links together?

Hi DonC—I *think* this talk was done back in 2004, and in a number of venues. I’m not certain where it was recorded.
I re-posted the series because it seems to all of us over here at StandFirm that there is some effort to act like the actions and theology expressed by the current leaders of TEC are unconnected with the Gospel. Obviously they are integrally antithetical to the Gospel and it clearly needs to be pointed out over and over and over again.
You can see each of the links by simply reversing the number of the post, as in:

Hope that helps!

Sarah, Interesting that this was recorded several years ago. Is this from Kendall’s T1:9 archives?

Thank you, Sarah. I was able to find part 1 that way.
