Traditional Anglicanism in America
Greg Griffith
Love Potion Number 815

The Episcopal Bookstore, run by the national church, is offering this charming little book, Love Spells, by Teresa Moorey:
Ah, how to capture the magic of true love? Take a handful of rose petals, a scented candle, some silk ribbon, and a little bit of hocus pocus—and nothing could be simpler. Enchantress Teresa Moorey offers a host of tried and tested spells, potions, and rituals that will help you find out just how to bring love into your life. This little volume is filled with spells to find your perfect match, become irresistible, keep a love that’s true, or when Cupid’s arrow has gone astray, mend a broken heart.

Yes, yes, I know what you're thinking: Surely not! Another pagan in our midst?

Well... yes.

Moorey is a pagan all right, and very active in the field. She is the author of Paganism: A Beginner's Guide, Witchcraft: A Complete Guide, and Spellbound: The Teenage Witch's Wiccan Handbook.

The Episcopal Bookstore's web site contains an HTML "tag" instructing "robots" (web indexing programs such Google and Yahoo) to keep out. This means there is no Google cache of the page to which we can link, in case 815 pulls the page. Here's a screen capture of the page.

[More paganism in the Episcopal Church can be found here and here.]

I come home, bring up titusonenine, and here's the first entry: Love Potion Number 815...

Well . . .

Well.

. . . . At least she is not an Episcopal priest.

We are improving, Greg.

But is the Episcopal book store supposed to be a bookstore about “Christian” topics?  Or is it just like a Barnes and Noble sort of store?

Just how much more Evil can you guys tolerate?  “Where will it end?” someone recently asked—with outright Satanism?  Will you sit by and merely be called “intolerant” when such blatant Evil makes a nice comfy nest in your Church?

“Enabler”, is more like it…

She is an attractive pagan and on her website she offers, yes, a ‘spell of the day’!  Is this how Grizwold stays young?  But seriously, it’s hard to believe that even the Episcopal Church caters to this.  Marty,  Satan.s works are most subtle and hidden but eventually they come out.  This is most unsubtle.

Now wait a minute!  As Episcopalians, we might well expect to find this bible in our bookstore, or maybe even this atlas, but c’mon now.  This stuff is actual superstition, a tribute to Chesterton’s dictum that those who won’t believe in God will believe anything…

Update:

815 is removing the book from their website.  Apparently, their previous book buyer purchased and listed it without the knowledge of either the current book buyer or the manager.  They agree that such a publication should never have been offered by the church center.

I’m glad to hear that they are in agreement…

mvdittersdorf,

Would that be agreement smile ...or damage control? big surprise

“815 is removing it from their website…”

Where have I heard that before? Ah, yes, when the Wiccan services were removed after being exposed.

This will not end. These things continually find their way into national publications because they reflect the anything goes philosophy at the top, and the dangerous, Satanic influence that has rushed to fill the void and has even crept into the Priesthood over the last few years.
