Dr Death’ Kevorkian plans to run for US Congress
Wednesday, March 26, 2008 • 8:15 pm

Oh goody.

. . . What a travesty.

From The Sydney Morning Herald:

Kevorkian, who was paroled in 2007, said he will run as an independent for a congressional seat representing the Detroit suburbs, near the area where he presided at dozens of suicides in cheap hotel rooms and the back of his rusty van.

Comments:

I thought he was paroled because he was supposedly dying. Sounds like he conned the parole board.

He is running for a seat now held by Republican Rep. Joe Knollenberg of Bloomfield Hills representing Detroit’s suburbs. Democrat Gary Peters, a former state senator and state lottery commissioner, also is running for the seat — expected to be among the most competitive in the country.

re- Suburbs in question.

Bloomfield Hills is where you live if you are a very rich person who is uncomfortable living too close to Detroit, as is the case with the wealthy Grosse Pointe suburbs.  I’m not at all sure of the politics of Bloomfield Hills (Detroit itself is Yellar Dog Democrat), but it is interesting that the incumbent is Republican.

My guess is that Bloomfielders wouldn’t want to deal with the scandal of electing someone like Kevorkian.

Detroit (the real Detroit) is another animal entirely.

He should try to run for that district.  I don’t think he’d get in there either, but I think he’d stand a better chance.

If Kevorkian fails in his bid for Congress, which he will most assuredly do, he can always enter a TEC seminary on a path to ordination. I’m sure he would fit right in. I see he is running as an “independent”. Maybe he can begin a brand new political party......say Deathocratic?

Lyndon LaRouche hasn’t try a presidential run in a long time, maybe this is just what he needs to inspire him, a running mate who is just as strange as he is ... LaRouche/Kevorkian in ‘12 ticket? The slogan could be “Bored to Death.”

I can hear the advertising now:

“Jack Kevorkian: Not afraid to make tough decisions. He stands up to Big Government and bloated hospitals. He stands for choice and quality of life. He takes bold action to reduce health care costs. We has stood for principle here in Michigan. Now we also need him to stand for principle in Washington. Vote for Jack Kevorkian. He’ll take care of Big Government once and for all.”
