Gay Group Organizes Gay Christmas in Gay Country

Monday, December 8, 2008 • 12:06 pm

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands – A Dutch gay group said Monday it has planned a “Pink Christmas” festival for the first time in Amsterdam, featuring a manger stall with two Josephs and two Marys.

Other attractions in the 10-day festival include parties, an open-air market, gay-themed films, an ice skating rink and religious services on Dec. 25.

ProGay group chairman Frank van Dalen said Monday the event is intended to increase the choices for homosexual men and women during the Christmas holiday week.

“Right now, there’s not much to do,” he said.

What can’t you do as a homosexual that you can do as a hetersexual during Christmas? Am I missing something here?

The Netherlands isn’t exactly gay country.  There is a lot of rather extreme gay activism, but then on the other side some of their media don’t mind hurling insults at gays (i.e., not legitimate critique, but rather simply name calling and cheap wisecracks) that American media would never do.  So it’s a very different situation - a lot more toleration for things like cruising in parks in some places like Amsterdam, but also a lot more toleration for expressions of dislike.

They want to portray same-sex marriages between two Marys and two Josephs with real actors at the nativity scene. It seems ludicrous and I can’t help laughing. But it is a tragedy.

If they tried to defile and distort the story of Islam in this way, it would not be permitted even in the Netherlands.
I’m not sure how long God will tolerate the inferences that His son and John or that Jonathan and David were ‘gay.’

I’m still angry that they are trying to ‘recruit’ Emily Dickinson for their cause - but angrier about the ‘gay’ lense reading of Scripture.

I think we should make a heterosexual version of “Bokeback Mountain”, see how they like it.

Maybe we could really shock the gay establishment and sneak through an openly heterosexual bishop in TEC.

Sorry, Jefferson, that’s really a bit of a stretch.

Greg, in the category:
“What can’t you do as a homosexual that you can do as a hetersexual during Christmas? Am I missing something here?”

I’d like to answer ANATOMY for $1000.00, Greg.
Properly use the natural equipment, as that would make you bisexual if not heterosexual?

And, hopefully, that would be a DAILY DOUBLE, so I can give 2000.00 to my favorite charity!

If they tried to defile and distort the story of Islam in this way, it would not be permitted even in the Netherlands.

Given what happened with a cartoon, I’m guessing that this would be a one day display if directed against Islam, and, unfortunately, it’s not the government they would be worried about.

#2—beyond the incredible, isn’t it?  If it were me, I would not even report such a thing.  There is no reason to spread the knowledge of their behavior.  If gays were to act like straight people, no one would know they were gay, would they?

Protest, protest, foul, foul…..what about the bisexuals, the bicurious, the transexuals, the asexuals, monosexuals, uni-sexuals, unsexuals?

The part about “weekly attacks on gay men:”  How frequent would that be if the “attacks” which came from “I said leave me alone!” were factored out?  Rather like that attack from behind old Lot’s door when those lads just couldn’t comprehend “No?”  Either that, or the holy angels are “homophobic?”
