This is a pivotal moment in the history of the Anglican Communion.

I have no doubt that Mary Frances Scjonberg and Jan Nuley are busily putting together a massive missive of fudge regarding this pivotal moment.

You’re very welcome!

Our thanks and prayers from orthodox believers in the Diocese of Massachusetts.  We’re still in an orthodox parish (one of the last ones left) in a diocese fully aligned with TEC principles.  Our thanks go out to Bishop Venables, and the other primates of the Global South, for your unwavering commitment to the Gospel as handed down to us, and your willingness to offer your protection for us.

Prayers ascending!  Is his title Archbishop or Presiding Bishop?  I’ve seen it both ways.

Archbishop Venables:
Thank you for standing up for the Authority of God’s Word and for offering hope to this 21 year old Anglican who wants to be a part of a Church faithful to the Gospel.  God’s richest blessings be upon you this day and in the days to come for your protection of God’s people.

So much of the news lately has been discouraging, but there’s been one VERY good development, though: Lately it looks like ++Akinola is begining a move in the direction of a new focal point for the Anglican Communion, away from the ABC and towards the Primates assembled. Rowan can holler, and Ms Schori along with him, but the true locus of the Communion is the Primates *IF* they are united enough to assert themselves.

The “historical understanding” of the Communion as centered around the ABC can easily change and may be in the process of doing so.

And the action by ++Venables fits right in. Bless them both!!!

In faith, Dave
