Easter Sermon: The Dangerous Truth about Easter

Here's my sermon from Easter Sunday. Scroll down to the first sermon listed and press "download" or "play"

Comments:

Just a note. There are a few factual errors in this delivered sermon. The text that I printed and preached from was, by accident, not my final corrected text but an earlier one. The mistakes, fortunately, are not biggies.

Amen, maybe not a new or inventive Easter sermon, but it’s the same basic Easter sermon we need to preach to our hearts again and again. Evidence of such is that almost every congregation doesn’t get the Easter greeting right the first time around, do we really grasp the comic significance of the story? We need to be retold that we remember God’s great news!

Alleluia, Christ is Risen!

Matt+, that was a good Eastern sermon.

The fact that the reality of the resurrection presents us with a choice helps explain so much of the debate we see coming out of Western Liberal Religion. If God can’t change Christ physically, then He can’t change us mentally or spiritually. And if God can’t change my heart and mind then I can be absolved from His Law.
