Be loving in everything you do." - I Corinthians 16:13-14

Lesbian Feminist Atheists We Love

That would be Tammy Bruce:

Hollywood honchos continue to wring their hands over why you've stopped going to the movies. They blame ticket prices and DVD availability. They had better start considering the fact that filmmakers are so disconnected, so nihilistic, that the hopelessness and hostility they feel toward the world now permeates their work. Americans will no longer go see movies which are nothing more than the manifestation of the backwash of malignant narcissists. We're also sick and tired of listening to actors lecture us about how awful the US is, and more recently, why a cold-blooded mass murdering gang founder should have been given clemency. Enough is enough.

Not only will we not go see films which insult us, we refuse to support an existential worldview. We happen to think life does matter, that decency is a good thing, and that people are inherently good, not bad. We also have stopped believing the lie that Americans are bad people. We looked away for 4 decades as that lie was spread, but that time is over.

So you can take your gay sheepherder, noble communist supporting reporters, big-business is evil, Americans are hopelessly and inherently corrupt and violent and unfaithful movies and go to Cannes where at least the Parisian set will love you. But that won't exactly pay the bills, will it?

UPDATE: Ms. Bruce emails to say: "...you note that I'm an atheist, but I'm not! I believe in God, but I just don't identify as a Christian. I have a problem with organized religion so I do my best to have a personal relationship with God. Thank you again, and I'm hoping you might just take off that word in your description of me ;) "

Done and done, Ms. Bruce. In fact, we love you even more now!

Greg, well said. Those people are in the backwater. The American people deserve better. Truth and reality are on our side.

God bless Tammy. She is a lesbian who thinks like a conservative. She has occassionally described herself as a gun-totin'lesbian that everybody needs to stay clear of. She's a hoot. She is very annoyed by the gay men's agenda. I guess we just need to see what outrageous move she makes next.

You mean I agree with a Lesbian, feminist atheist?! Well, life is full of surprises and Tammy is right on the money on ths one.

I don't know anybody who would spend a nickle on a movie about two men sheepherders in love. May God and John Wayne help us!

Didn't mean to go incognito, Greg, just forgot to sign in on the last post.

BettyLee,

I am not really sure that Tammy is feminist in the sense some are. She defends choice on abortion, but she slays dragons on some other arch-feminist issues. Her pro-NRA position, and her anti-tax positions deny a stereotypical feminist position. I am also not sure she is an atheist. Several of her broadcasts have been almost like she was yearning for the days when she celebrated Christmas and other Christian holidays. I think she is troubled, and perhaps a seeker. I am not even sure she is a dedicated lesbian, since she lives with a dog, a cat and a racoon. She may eschew men as sexual alternatives, but she doesn't seem to be seeking any women.

I listen to her show whenever I can, but several stations here on the coast have dropped it because of pressure from the Baptists and Assembly of God folk, etc. The internet connection is http://tammybruce.com/biography.php.

But no question, her commentary on Hollywood that Greg posted is right on the mark. Go Tammy!

Thanks Gulfstream for filling me in on Tammy Bruce. My husband and I were just watching her on TV--is she everywhere these days? Anyway, everything she said, we both agreed with, including some hilarious remarks about Ted Kennedy. She is really funny, and that must be a great deal of her appeal. She seems pretty conservative and what I like is her irreverence for all things sacred in the liberal world. Thank you and Greg for introducing me to her.

On TV she was talking about the power of the internet and how the liberals hate it and talk radio because they can't control the free flow of information through them. I think she may be a recovering feminist from what we read on Googling her about her years with NOW as opposed to where she is at the present time. She does not like the hate and "soulessness" that she has seen in both the feminist and gay political movements.

She has decided that what is decent and right can't be removed from any equation. Looks like she is indeed a seeker.

BettyLee,
I think you have a pretty good picture of her. She is a decent and good person, and her past is not an issue for me. We can only hope she finds a good life sometime.

For those of you who have Sirius Satellite Radio, you can hear her weekdays from 12:00 - 3:00. She is definitely a seeker, as I have called in to her show, yes, to talk about Jesus! She is struggling with the same things that a lot of people struggle with. Mainly, she struggles with whether Jesus was real or whether He was a metaphor.

Oops. She's on TalkRight, which is either Channel 120 or 124 (I don't remember off hand).
